Good lawyering demands good writing.
ABOUT LEGAL WRITING & RESEARCH
JD students are required to take at least nine units of legal writing and research
coursework:
- First-year students take five units in Legal Writing and Research I and II.
- Upper-division students must take at least two units of practice-based writing. Students
may fulfill this requirement through a variety of courses or through satisfactory
participation in an approved moot court competition.
- Upper-division students may satisfy a maximum of two units through a variety of scholarly
courses or independent study, or by writing an original piece for one of GGU's scholarly
journals.
Student requiring extra support in developing legal writing skills may participate
in the Academic Achievement Program.
