Graduate Programs

Earning your graduate law degree is an invaluable investment in your education. Whether you are seeking an edge in the job market, are an experienced practitioner looking to increase your specialization, or are an international student wanting to learn about US law, GGU Law can help you achieve your goals. Our programs offer great flexibility by accepting entering students in the fall, spring, or summer semester, by allowing students to complete the program on a full-time or part-time basis, and by offering our award-winning Tax LLM online.

 Master of Laws (LLM)

A Master of Laws (LLM) is the degree that follows the JD, LLB, or equivalent degree. The program enables law graduates to continue their studies, to specialize, or -- in the case of foreign-educated lawyers -- to qualify to take a bar exam in the United States.

Master of Law Studies (MLS) Program

Golden Gate University’s Master of Law Studies (MLS) is designed to provide graduates with a deep understanding of essential topics, major concepts, and core theories of law and legal studies to prepare them for legal-adjacent careers or a transition to law school. An MLS degree is ideal for non-lawyers pursuing careers that require advanced legal knowledge.

 Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD)

GGU also offers a terminal law degree, equivalent to a PhD, called an SJD.

The SJD in International Legal Studies is designed to provide in-depth coverage of specialized areas of international and comparative law.
