Lois Schwartz is a member of the full-time faculty at Hastings College of the Law. Since 1999, she has been an adjunct professor at Golden Gate, where she teaches Remedies, Wills & Trusts, Wills & Trusts Drafting, Youth Law and Education Law. In the past she has also taught California Civil Procedure, Advanced Problems in Torts and Contracts, Legal Analysis, Legal Methods, and Women and the Law.
Professor Schwartz holds bachelor's and master's degrees are from the University of Chicago. She is a 1989 graduate of Boalt Hall (now Berkeley Law School). Prior to teaching law school, she practiced with the firm of Girard and Vinson, specializing in education law. She served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. D. Lowell Jensen at the US District Court for the Northern District of California in 2001-2002. She also served in the Public Defender's Office in Contra Costa County and held a position with the Contra Costa County Staff Attorneys' Office.
