    Patricia K. Sepulveda was an Associate Justice on the First District Court of Appeal from 1998 - 2012. She previously sat on the trial bench in Contra Costa County for nine years and before her appointment to the bench, she was a prosecutor with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office for eleven years. Both on the trial bench and on the Court of Appeal, Justice Sepulveda has handled all types of cases, including criminal, civil, family law, probate and juvenile.

     

    Justice Sepulveda has been an active participant in judicial education, teaching criminal procedure, evidence, and family law courses over the years, and has served on several judicial education planning and curriculum committees. Justice Sepulveda has served as an adjunct faculty member at Golden Gate University School of Law for several years, teaching Criminal Procedure I, Special Problems in Criminal Law and Procedure, and Special Problems in Evidence.Justice Sepulveda graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley, with an A.B. in Psychology, and received her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
