Adjunct Professor Carol A. King has practiced immigration law for 25 years, first with the Law Offices of Marc Van Der Hout, later in her own practice and finally with the Executive Office of Immigration Review as an Immigration Judge, a position she has held for the past 15 years. Most recently, she has been appointed to serve as a temporary member of the Board of Immigration Appeals. Professor King's experience in immigration law has included family and business visas, deportation defense and asylum and refugee law. She also served for three years as a member of the Immigration and Nationality Law Commission of the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
Professor King has taught Golden Gate University's Immigration Law course for the past four years and previously taught as a guest lecturer on immigration topics at Boalt Hall (U.C. Berkeley) and U.C. Davis.Professor King holds a BA in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a JD from Golden Gate University School of Law ('84).
